Tanzania Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.

Maryknoll has served in Africa for 70 years. A number of volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups, ranging from one to three months. These include medical work, social services among gifted children and adults, and informal teaching with young adults. These opportunities occur in a rural setting of the Shinyanga region, in the city of Mwanza on Lake Victoria, and in the major city of Dar es Salaam, a port on the Indian Ocean.

From Ndoleleji, Tanzania, short-term volunteer Greg Massara from Camillus, New York (near Syracuse), sent this photo.

“I’ve attached a picture of me and some Form IV students at a graduation party. My trip allowed me to explore new places of the world, meet and have interesting talks with a variety of people, and gain experience in a field I’m interested in.” ~ Greg Massara
