Bolivia Mission Immersion Trip

For teachers, DREs, catechists, and diocesan ministers

The city of Cochabamba, Bolivia is home to scores of indigenous migrants from the mountains seeking out a better life for themselves and their families. Come experience the Church as a true community of missionary disciples with a vibrant community of native Bolivians and Maryknoll Missioners, both lay and religious. Discover and discern what it means to be an evangelizing community which exists to share in God’s love.

August 5 – 17, 2019

Program Includes:

  • Professional and ministerial development before, during, and after travel
  • Accompaniment by a Maryknoll Mission Education professional
  • Encounter and relationship building with individuals, families, and communities in and around Cochabamba
  • Visits to the historical Jesuit missions in Santa Cruz
  • Visits to Maryknoll and partner programs working with youth, community development, socio-political issues, health, environmental issues, and formation
  • Orientation to social, political, and economic realities
  • Daily reflections and faith formation activities
  • Ongoing support and consultation

Program Costs:

  • Estimated cost: $ 1,900 – includes flight ($1,200) and ground transportation, lodging and meals ($700)
  • Partial scholarships available
  • US Citizens must apply for a Bolivian visa (cost: $ 150.00 – valid for 10 years)
